Address to RF President V. V. Putin
Esteemed Mister President!
Thank you for the warm welcome extended to us at the World Forum held May 14 to 16 of this year in Moscow.
I was greatly impressed by your speech. You said that Russia had always remembered the alumni of the Soviet and Russian higher educational institutions and was ready to receive them as welcome guests.
I am a disciple of the Russian school of medicine, for I graduated from the Moscow medical Institute in 1973. Professor Svyatoslav Fyodorov performed successful surgery on my both eyes in 1983, and I learned a lot from him later. I have performed surgery on the Japanese since then and as a result, nearly 18,000 patients do not need glasses any more. The Japanese doctors do this surgery in almost 200 medical centers now, though they were originally against it.
Let the blossoming of a thousand sakuras in Saint Petersburg remind you of the warm feelings the Japanese have for Russia.
I wish you success in your challenging work and the best of health.
Alumnus of the Moscow Second Medical Institute, class of 1973.
